Bishkek, July 15, 2019. /Kabar/. The economy is expected to grow by 4% in the year, Avtandil Alybayev, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said that, in order to achieve these indicators, there is need to fulfill all the tasks set by the Government of the country.
In general, economic growth rates gradually improve. He said that in the first half of 2019, the economy grew by 6.4%, excluding Kumtor growth made 2.5%.
“With regard to external sector, export growth is 3.7%. There is a decrease in imports by 4.7%,” he said.
Head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department of the Economy Ministry Nasirdin Shamshiyev explained why economic growth is expected to decline by the end of the year.
“We expect the economic growth without Kumtor at the level of 3.6%, and taking into account the enterprise- by 4%. For the first half of the year, the indicators are high because Kumtor produced more gold in the fourth quarter of last year. This is the reason for the growth in the first half of 2019,” he said.
Inflation is stable at 0.3%.
