Kyrgyzstan’s finance minister on results of 2021

Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2022 . / Kabar / . Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Baketayev spoke about the results of the agency's work in 2021 during the Board of the ministry on Friday.

“All goals set for the ministry were accomplished at a good and high level. At the end of 2021, we finished the budget with a positive balance going into 2022. There have been great activities in terms of food and energy security, as well as defense capabilities," he said.

In addition, the minister pointed out that military equipment was purchased with personal funds for the first time in history of Kyrgyzstan, as well as wheat seeds and vaccine against COVID-19.

"Moreover, the indebtedness on medicines under the Ministry of Health was completely repaid, and in parallel, a 2-3 month supply of medicines was provided," noted Baketayev.

In addition, the official said that social benefits to some categories of children with disabilities were also increased over the past year. These activities will continue in 2022.

"In conclusion, I would like to say that the tasks set for the ministry in 2021 have been completed, but there are also many issues where we have intentions to improve the situation. One of the most global is the increase in tax collections. Currently, we are working together with the State Tax Service and the State Customs Service in this direction. The main goal is to modernize the tax process through digital technology,” the finance minister of Kyrgyzstan explained.
