Bishkek, Oct.8, 2019. /Kabar/. As part of his working visit to Geneva to participate in the UN High-Level Segment on Statelessness, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov addressed the audience and guests of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP).
FM Aidarbekov’s speech touched upon the issues of cooperation between the countries of the Central Asian region in political, economic, cultural, humanitarian, water and energy fields, the existing level of interaction to maintain security in the region, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Attention was paid to the integration processes, in particular, the interaction within the such organizations as the EAEU, SCO, CSTO, etc., as well as the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in a number of regional structures.
The event was attended by representatives of the Geneva diplomatic corps, civil society, local authorities and audience of the GCSP.
The Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) is an international foundation that was established in 1995 under Swiss law to "promote the building and maintenance of peace, security and stability".
The GCSP was founded by the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sports in cooperation with the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs as a Swiss contribution to Partnership for Peace (PfP).
Kyrgyzstan has been a member of the Board of Trustees of this organization since 2003. There are currently 52 states and the Government of the Canton of Geneva.
The Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva acted as the co-organizer of the event.
