Kyrgyzstan's football team to play against Iran today

Bishkek, Nov.19, 2024./Kabar/. The Dolon Omurzakov stadium in Bishkek will host today a match of the national football team against Iran within the third round of selection for the 2026 World Cup.

Kyrgyzstan is participating in the third qualifying round of the World Cup for the first time, the Kyrgyz Football Union said.

This stage involves 18 teams divided into three groups of six. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the world championship

The third- and fourth-placed teams will continue on to the fourth round, where two more participants will be determined and one team will be able to qualify through an intercontinental playoff.

Group A, where Kyrgyzstan is playing, also includes Iran, Qatar, UAE, North Korea and Uzbekistan.

The match will start at 8:00 a.m.
