In 9 months of 2021, foreign institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic helped to send home 332 bodies of deceased Kyrgyzstani citizens, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the republic Aibek Artykbayev told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency on Wednesday.

He added that specific measures taken by the ministry include the increased work of foreign missions of Kyrgyzstan on comprehensive support of migrant workers in host countries and optimization of processes to provide consular services abroad to protect the rights and interests of citizens.
In particular, the foreign missions of Kyrgyzstan provided about 100 thousand consular services in 9 months of 2021.
"In the framework of protection of rights and interests of citizens, 5 thousand written applications were considered, 460 visits to places of accidents, airports, hospitals, morgues were made, about 200 events and meetings were organized with participation of Kyrgyz diasporas, 260 meetings were held with representatives of authorities of host countries on consular and migration issues, assistance in sending 332 bodies of dead citizens back home was provided, with 15 thousand 177 citizens we provided information and explanatory work on consular and legal issues," the deputy minister added.
In the current year consular visits, service of compatriots in Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Czech Republic, Sweden, Spain, Greece, Estonia, Lithuania and Moldova as well as in the cities of Chicago and Philadelphia (USA), Naples, Cagliari, Milan (Italy), Kaliningrad, Kazan, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa (Russia), Odessa and Kharkov (Ukraine) were made.
"As part of these trips, consular services in the form of documentation and legal advice were provided to more than 1.5 thousand Kyrgyz citizens,” Artykbayev said.
In August, with the help of partner countries, 36 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were evacuated to their home country from Afghanistan.
The official added that the issue of opening an embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Hungary, the issue of opening a Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Antalya is being resolved, and an agreement has been reached with the American side to open consular offices of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chicago and New York in the future.
