Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade declines

Bishkek, Mar. 12, 2019. /Kabar/. The volume of foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan in January of this year was formed in the amount of about $ 457 million. According to preliminary estimates of the National Statistics Committee, this is 8.4% less than in the first month of last year.

Export performance, as specified in the committee, decreased by 15.4%, and the volume of imports – by 6.4%.

“The reduction in export deliveries was due to a decrease in the export of gold by 13.7%, automobile and tractor spare parts — by 4.5 times, cotton fiber — by 3.3 times, and garments by 3.6%,” the specialists told.

At the same time, according to them, the export of meat and meat products increased fivefold, iron and steel products – by 2.7 times, plastics and products from it – by 42.7%, milk and dairy products – by 38.8%.

"The decrease in the volume of import revenues is due to a decrease in the import of chemical fibers by 1.9 times, articles of clothing and accessories to it – by 1.8 times, rubber and products from it – by 1.8 times, tobacco and tobacco products – by 1.7 times, ferrous metals – by 37.9%, shoes – by 35.1%, leather goods – by 29.5%, sugar and sugar confectionery – by 27.5%,” the committee reported.

At the same time, there was an increase in the volume of imported fertilizers by 3.7 times, knitted fabrics – by 3.6 times, ceramic products – by 1.9 times, wood and products from it – by 1.6 times, oil products – by 30%, electric machines and equipment – by 29.8%, plastics and articles from it – by 28.8%, equipment and mechanical devices – by 28.4%, paper and cardboard – by 27.2%.
