Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover in 2016 decreased by 1.5% - National Bank

Bishkek, Feb. 14 / Kabar /. The decline in economic activity in the countries-main trade partners of Kyrgyzstan significantly affected the economic situation in the country, chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Tolkunbek Abdygulov told today during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He said that, according to preliminary data of the National Statistics Committee, the foreign trade turnover in FOB prices in January-November 2016 amounted to 4 billion 716.4 million US dollars, which is 1.5% less than in 2015 .

"The export of goods in the reporting period decreased by 7.1% and amounted to 1 billion 315.2 million US dollars, while imports of goods made 3 billion 401.2 million US dollars (0.9% growth). As a result, the trade deficit of the republic amounted to 2 086.0 million US dollars, which is 6.7% more than in January-November 2015," he said.
