Kyrgyzstan’s GDP amounts to KGS 925M since beginning of year

In January-August 2024, the volume of gross domestic product, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to about KGS 952 billion, and compared to January-September 2023 increased by 8.4%, Deputy Chairwoman of the National Statistics Committee Nazira Kerimalieva said at the briefing.

She noted that the volume of industrial production amounted to about KGS 394 billion and increased by 4.2 percent compared to January-September 2023 due to the growth of production of purified oil products (by 1.8 times), wood and paper products, printing activities (by 32.5 percent), food products (including beverages) and tobacco products (by 22.6 percent), in textile, clothing production (by 13.2 percent), rubber, plastic products and construction materials (by 8.8 percent), as well as pharmaceutical products (by 5.9 percent).

“Positive trends were observed in construction, where the increase in volumes amounted to 36.9%, wholesale and retail trade - 16.6%, as well as in agriculture - 6.7%,” Kerimalieva added.
