Kyrgyzstan's GDP in 2024 increases by 9 %

According to preliminary estimates, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Kyrgyzstan in January-December 2024 amounted to more than 1.5 trillion soms and increased by 9% compared to January-December 2023, chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the country Baktybek Kudaibergenov told at a briefing.

He said that the volume of industrial output in January-December 2024 amounted to more than 585 billion soms and increased by 5.5 percent compared to January-December 2023 due to the growth in the production of refined petroleum products (by 1.9 times), wood and paper products, printing activities (by 30.5 percent), food products (including beverages) and tobacco products (by 20.1 percent), in textile production, clothing production (by 15.3 percent), pharmaceuticals (by 21.7 percent), rubber, plastic products and building materials (by 10.8 percent), as well as mining (by 4.0 percent). He added that positive trends were observed in construction, where the increase in volumes amounted to 18.0 percent, wholesale and retail trade - 18.5 percent, as well as in agriculture - 6.3 percent.
