Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2018. /Kabar/. The volume of gross domestic product (GDP) of Kyrgyzstan in January-October 2018 amounted to 420 billion soms, and compared with the corresponding periods of 2017 increased by 2%, head of the Department for Dissemination of Statistical Information of the National Statistical Committee Chinara Turdubaeva told at a press conference.
She said that the largest share in the structure of GDP is observed in the sectors providing services, which in total amounted to about 45%, the share of industry was about 19%, agriculture - about 14% and construction - more than 7%.
“Without taking into account Kumtor mining field, the volume of GDP in January-October amounted to 382.6 billion soms and increased by 2.6%. In agriculture, the growth in gross output of agricultural products was due to an increase in animal products (by 2.1%) and crop production (by 2.8%), as compared to January-September last year”, she said.
Turdubayeva said that in the construction sector, the growth in investment in fixed capital, as compared with January-October 2017, is observed in the majority of activities, except for the construction of facilities for the provision of electricity, gas and steam, hotels and restaurants, information and communication, and education.
In addition, the volume of investments financed from domestic sources increased by 20.9%. As for external sources, it decreased by 25.1%.
“In 2018, the bulk of investment, almost 78%, was directed to the construction of facilities for mineral extraction, manufacturing activity, supply of electricity, gas and steam, transportation, and housing construction,” she added.
