Kyrgyzstan’s GDP makes KGS 337M in 7 months of 2021

Bishkek, Aug. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . According to preliminary estimates, Kyrgyzstan’s gross domestic product (GDP) in January-July 2021 amounted to about KGS 337 billion, showing a decrease compared to January-July last year by 1.6%, the National Statistics Committee of the republic said Friday.

Excluding enterprises on the development of Kumtor deposit, GDP made about KGS 306 billion, and increased by 3.6% in comparison with the same period last year.

Decrease in GDP growth rates was caused by their reduction in industry and construction. Meanwhile, the growth rate of sectors of commodity production decreased by 9.1% compared to January-July last year (in January-July 2020 a growth made 1.8%). The growth rate of industries providing services increased by 5.0% compared to January-July 2021 (a decrease of 9.7% in January-July 2020).

In January-July of this year, the largest share (47.8%) in the structure of GDP was accounted for industries providing services, which increased by 0.4 percentage points compared to January-July last year, and the share of industries producing goods decreased by 4.3% points and amounted to 37.5%.

The share of industry in the structure of GDP was 20.9%, down 3.3 percentage points from the same period last year, while the share of construction was 5.0% and 1.3 percentage points lower, respectively, while the share of wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repairs, in contrast, increased by 1.3 percentage points, amounting to 14.8%.
