Shipments of influenza vaccine in Kyrgyzstan begin

Bishkek, Sept. 16, 2020. /Kabar/. Vaccination against seasonal influenza and acute respiratory infections increases immunity to various diseases and prevents the development of other related diseases, specialists said at a meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported Wednesday.

According to the country’s Health Ministry, the country has started supplying flu vaccines.

Vaccination will be free of charge on a voluntary basis to the following categories of citizens who are at risk: citizens with chronic diseases, pregnant women, children in orphanages and nursing homes, pupils of boarding schools, medical staff and citizens over 65 years.

“Representatives of local self-government bodies, together with physicians, should carry out explanatory work on the importance of receiving vaccinations. The Ministry of Health must strengthen preventive measures," First Deputy Prime Minister Almazbek Baatyrbekov said.

During the meeting of the HQ, it was noted that the process of vaccine delivery to the regions is currently underway.

Local self-government bodies and specialized state bodies have been instructed to organize vaccination of the population at the proper level.

Besides, at the meeting, the requirement of strict observance of the worked out algorithms at entry of foreign citizens to the country was set.
