Bishkek, June 8, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Turkish capital city of Ankara hosted on Monday a meeting between Minister of Investment of Kyrgyzstan Almambet Shykmamatov and Chairman of the Board of the Organized Industrial Zone of Turkey (OSTIM) Orhan Aydin.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in attracting investment and development were discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz Investment Ministry said.
OSTIM representatives introduced the Kyrgyz side with the activities of the organization, which is mainly represented by small, medium-sized enterprises and is one of the leading industrial zones in Ankara.
Members of the organization work in seventeen major sectors of the Turkish economy and their number is more than 6 thousand 200 enterprises.
In turn, Minister Shykmamatov informed the Turkish side in detail about the work carried out by the state to attract foreign investment and create favorable conditions for investors.
"Development of enterprises directly affects the growth of the country's economy, so we are interested in studying the experience of OSTIM and other successful Turkish associations in order to implement the best model for Kyrgyzstan. In addition, we have a proposal to the Turkish side to open an industrial zone in the territory of the republic as soon as possible," Shykmamatov said.
As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Investment of the Kyrgyz Republic and OSTIM,
The document is planned to be signed at the Kyrgyz-Turkish business forum, to be held on June 10 during the planned visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkey. In order to quickly launch the project, the Turkish delegation will visit Kyrgyzstan in September 2021.
