Kyrgyzstan’s Karakol town to host Oimo-Winter festival for first time

Bishkek, Dec.31, 2019. /Kabar/. For the first time, Karakol town of Issyk-Kul Oblast will host the 2020 Oimo-Winter Festival, the organizers said.

The event will be held on Jan.8-12 with the participation of artisans and designers from Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.

The Festival’s program includes a round table on “Promotion of traditional handicrafts as part of the tourism industry of Kyrgyzstan".

Craftswomen from Batken, Osh, Chui, Naryn and Issyk-Kul Oblasts will demonstrate their skills in weaving, embroidery, knitting and other types of folk crafts.

An exhibition-fair of craftsmen of the peoples of the Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia will be held under the Festival.

For the first time, masters and designers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will exhibit their products in continuation of the traditions of the Great Silk Road.
