Bishkek, Dec. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of his working trip to Dzhalal-Abad Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, Acting Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Artem Novikov visited the KAZ Minerals Bozymchak mine.
The enterprise resumed its work on Dec. 26 this year after the Oct. 5-6 events, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported on Sunday.
"Over the past two months, the Government has held consultations with the management of the company and the local population. Today's launch of the company is a landmark event that shows our restoring of investor’s confidence. It is also important in terms of providing an investment climate. No one benefits from the idle company, there are no tax payments to the budget, and about 1,000 people have been left without work. Now our citizens have returned to their jobs, social payments will be made, budget contribution,” the acting head of the government said.
He added an agreement was reached to further increase economic cooperation and interaction between the company and the local population, including the supply of locally produced goods.
Meanwhile, Artem Novikov placed personal responsibility on Dzhalal-Abad Oblast Governor Absattar Syrgabayev to ensure the stable operation of the KAZ Minerals Bozymchak mine, noting that awareness-raising work should be carried out continuously.
The acting prime minister of Kyrgyzstan also paid special attention to the issue of compliance with international environmental requirements in the development of the field.
"The Government has a clear position on this issue, the impact on the environment during production should be minimal. All the waste produced must not exceed the environmental standards established for the enterprise. For this purpose, the state bodies constantly analyze the level of waste. The Government will defend the interests of both the local population and the company equally," concluded Novikov.
