Bishkek, Nov. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. Employees of the Tazalyk municipal enterprise have started installing a 25-meter-long frame of the country's main New Year tree on the central square of Ala-Too in Bishkek.
According to the press service of the capital’s Mayor’s Office, a 15-meter long tree will also be installed near the Parliament building and an 11-meter long one near the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Satylganov.
"It is worth noting that we use old decorations, most of them were made last year, after the New Year holidays we have carefully preserved them,” the message says.
According to Acting Mayor of Bishkek Balbak Tulobayev, this year’s ceremony of lighting the main tree will be held on Dec. 10 without an accompanying concert and fireworks.
"A concert's organizing only will take KGS 4 million. Plus, the epidemiological situation should be taken into account,” he said.
Last week Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elvira Surabaldiyeva announced New Year's corporate parties are prohibited.
The decision is associated with the situation in the country with coronavirus infection.
