Kyrgyzstan’s National Pavilion wins silver cup at EXPO 2019 Beijing

Bishkek, Oct.24, 2019. /Kabar/. The National Pavilion of Kyrgyzstan has received a special prize-a silver cup and "Active Participant” certificate of the EXPO 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, Advisor to minister of agriculture, Director of the Kyrgyz Pavilion Azat Erkebayev told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He said EXPO 2019 Beijing has become an unprecedented event in the history of Chinese exhibitions. The Exhibition was attended by 110 countries and international organizations, as well as 120 public organizations. More than 100 national days and more than 3000 cultural events were held during 162 days of the exhibition.

“At the EXPO 2019 we presented a wide range of products of domestic agricultural and processing enterprises, whose products have great export potential. We exhibited 14 items and 700 units of products. Perhaps, it was the widest assortment and the largest quantity of goods for the whole time of Kyrgyzstan's participation in international exhibitions. Taking into account the ongoing Year of Regional Development, we presented products from each oblast of Kyrgyzstan,” Erkebayev added.

The advisor to culture minister noted Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov visited the national pavilion on the opening day of the EXPO 2019,becoming its first visitor.

The President noted Kyrgyzstan should take advantage of the exhibition site and demonstrate to the Chinese market the opportunities of the Kyrgyz organic agriculture and industry.

“Kyrgyzstan's participation in the EXPO 2019 Beijing should bear fruit. During the 5.5 months of the exhibition, after visiting our pavilion and watching reports about the work of the Chinese media, which have a multi-million audience, Chinese and foreign guests could learn more about Kyrgyzstan through our yurts and events about our rich culture.

After getting acquainted with our agricultural products, representatives of 4 Chinese trading companies visited Kyrgyzstan, now they are preparing to conclude contracts with domestic producers to export to China. The Kyrgyz Pavilion at the EXPO 2019 Beijing contributed to the development of the country's economy, especially agriculture, as well as to the expansion of Kyrgyzstan's export potential and greater recognition in the international arena,” said Azat Erkebayev.
