Bishkek, Feb.24, 2020./Kabar/. Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic Tokon Mamytov received representatives of the Kelechek Plus Public Foundation and Lyubov Shevchenko, civil activist for the rights of people with disabilities.
According to the press service of the Ombudsman, during the meeting there was a discussion about the most acute problems that people with disabilities have to face on a daily basis, including the accessibility of public transport and urban infrastructure for them, most often without ramps and handrails to support.
Ombudsman Mamytov suggested the Kelechek Plus PF to conclude a memorandum of cooperation with the Institute of Ombudsman, as well as to give a number of Fund’s most active representatives the right to protect the interests of people with disabilities.
"The Office of the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic is ready and will provide you and all people with disabilities with any legal and necessary assistance, you can be sure in this and count on us," said Tokon Mamytov.
For their part, representatives of the Kelechek Plus Foundation expressed their gratitude for the support and understanding, and also said that in the near future they will prepare the appropriate text of the proposed memorandum.
They also expressed readiness to effectively cooperate in the field of protection of the legitimate rights and interests of people with disabilities.
