Kyrgyzstan’s Osh city to deploy COVID-19 vaccination points at markets

Bishkek, July 1, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Osh Mayor’s Office hosted a meeting of the anti-epidemic and anti-epizootic commission headed by Deputy Mayor Emil Shadyhanov.

The meeting discussed the current situation with the ongoing work on the prevention of coronavirus infection and pneumonia, the press service of the city’s Mayor’s Office said Thursday.

It was also noted that at present the availability of drugs in pharmacy warehouses and retail outlets meets the demands of the population.

Deputy Mayor Shadykhanov stressed the need to conduct a thorough analysis of the situation on the drug market and prices of drugs, taking into account that the minimum stock of drugs should be sufficient for at least 2 months.

"We expect to receive 110 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine in the near future. In this regard, it is necessary to strengthen outreach work among the population on the need for vaccination. In addition, COVID-19 vaccination points where everyone can receive the vaccine will be deployed at markets and mini-markets of the city. Heads of relevant services have already been instructed to deal with organizational matters.

At the same time, we must strengthen control over the observance of sanitary-epidemiological norms and rules in public places,” Emil Shadykhanov noted.

In Osh city, each public catering facility must not be occupied by more than 50% of the total number of seats.

Besides, heads of large city enterprises, institutions and departments were recommended to switch to remote work employees over 60 years old, pregnant women, as well as those with chronic diseases.

62 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in Osh city in the last 24 hours.
