Osh, April 5, 2023. / Kabar/. Yesterday, April 4, a meeting was held between First Deputy Mayor of Osh, Mars Isaev, and Charlotte Surun, Charge d'Affaires of the United Kingdom in the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the areas of interaction between entrepreneurs, the development of the education system, as well as the protection of women's rights, gender equality.
In his welcoming speech, Isaev spoke about the main directions of the socio-economic development of the city within the framework of the approved Osh City Development Program for 2023-2026, and also proposed to develop bilateral ties as part of the intention to establish sister city relations with one of the industrial cities of Great Britain.
Surun noted that favorable conditions have been created for entrepreneurs from the Kyrgyz Republic for duty-free export of about 85% of products, including agricultural products, textiles, and beekeeping.
"At the end of April, the first group of representatives of textile and agricultural associations from Kyrgyzstan will visit the UK, where meetings are held with businessmen to develop bilateral cooperation. Upon returning home, they will be able to share their experience," she said.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to develop bilateral ties and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
