Kyrgyzstan’s PM calls on compatriots to be responsible and observe self-isolation

Bishkek, May 4, 2020. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev called on compatriots to act responsibility and observe self-isolation until the quarantine ended.

According to the Government's press service, the PM’s appeal reads:

"Today the government is focused on preparing for the restoration of economic activity in the country. In order to preserve jobs and incomes of citizens, we have decided to gradually restore the activities in the most important and relevant areas of the economy. It was a difficult but very important decision for the country, taken in strict compliance with its impact on the coronavirus infection situation.

However, many see this easing as the lifting of the quarantine regime and a return to the old life. I want to stress that it is not so! All citizens, except those who have received work permits, must observe quarantine. Today is an important stage in the fight against the spread of the virus, which requires responsibility and discipline from every citizen. We cannot allow all our efforts to go to waste.

The continuing risks of the virus' spread require us to take additional preventive measures of protection, first and foremost concerning compliance with the rules of social distancing.

I would like to address all Kyrgyzstanis: all recommendations of doctors on compliance with the rules of hygiene, self-isolation and social distancing must be respected! I would also like to remind that heads of enterprises and organizations whose activities are allowed from May 1, 2020, are personally responsible for strict compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements.

We have prevented a wide spread of the virus and managed to strengthen the capacity of the health care system. This has been achieved primarily thanks to the support of citizens who show patience and understanding. But in order to consolidate the results achieved, we must be responsible until the quarantine is over, observing all rules of self-isolation and social distance. Preserving the lives and health of citizens, our relatives and friends, is our common goal”.
