Kyrgyzstan's projects on green economy presented at Climate Summit in Baku

Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2024 . / Kabar / . A thematic day on the theme "Towards sustainability of the Kyrgyz Republic: green and climate finance opportunities" was held at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku.

The thematic day was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Climate Finance Center under the Cabinet of Ministers, National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Eldik Bank OJSC, UNDP, with participation of ADB, IFC, CAREC Institute, EDB, IFCA, NDC Partnership Support to the process of implementation of the LULUCF in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sanzharbek Bolotov presented information on the ongoing work of the Ministry within the framework of the development of the "green" economy: adopted and under development program documents, projects on flood control, development of geothermal energy, mountainous regions of the country, etc.

The event provided a platform for the development of potential cooperation in the implementation of mechanisms and tools for the mobilization of green and climate finance in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the development of cooperation between government agencies, investors and international partners to work together on the development of a green economy.
