Kyrgyzstan’s schools closed due to cold weather

Bishkek, Jan. 25, 2018 / Kabar /. Because of the cold weather, unplanned vacations were announced in schools in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.

In order to protect the health of children and based on official warning from the Ministry of Emergencies about the expected sharp drop in temperature, the educational process in the schools of the republic has been suspended by the order of Minister of Education and Science Gulmira Kudaiberdiyeva since Jan. 26.

The unplanned vacations will last till Jan. 30, the report said.

Earlier weather forecasters reported that lower air temperature and abnormally cold weather is expected in the territory of Kyrgyzstan from 26 to 29 Jan. Nighttime temperature in some parts of the country can drop to -35 degrees.
