Kyrgyzstan’s Security Council preparing new draft of anti-corruption strategy

Bishkek, Jan.24, 2020. /Kabar/. The Secretariat of the Security Council should prepare by June 1, 2020 a new draft of anti-corruption strategy, Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbayev told journalists.

According to him, on the one hand, this is the President's instruction, and on the other hand, it was laid down in the Security Council's decision.

"The strategy will set out the main activities of all branches of Government and state bodies, that is, everything that needs to be done to effectively fight corruption. I can say that at present there are modern challenges and threats, and they should be adequately addressed," Damir Sagynbayev said.

The regular meeting of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov was held at the Ala-Archa state residence.

There were two issues on the meeting’s agenda: the implementing the decisions of the Security Council and proposals to the list of strategic objects of Kyrgyz Republic.

The Council also considered the implementation of the decisions of the Security Council "On urgent measures to combat corruption in judicial, supervisory and law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic", "On measures for digital development of the Kyrgyz Republic", "On measures to ensure security in the field of subsoil use of the Kyrgyz Republic”.

The Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic consists of the President - Chairman of the Council, parliament speaker, prime minister, head of the President’s Office, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, deputy PM, chairman of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) in charge of defense and security issues, the Security Council’s secretary, prosecutor general, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations, Chairmen of the State Border Service and State Committee for National Security.
