Kyrgyzstan’s Sharshenbekov advanced to semi-finals of World Wrestling Championships

Bishkek, Oct. 8, 2021 . / Kabar / . Zholaman Sharshenbekov from Kyrgyzstan advanced to the semi-finals of the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway.

Sharshenbekov (60kg) has been competing since 1/8. In his first bout, the Kyrgyzstani defeated Belarus' Maxim Kazharski with 2:0. In the quarterfinals, Sharshenbekov met Georgian Irakli Dzimistarishvili and defeated him by pinfall.

At the World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Kyrgyz female wrestlers Aisuluu Tynybekova (62 kg) and Meerim Zhumanazarova (68 kg) won gold among women. In addition, Aiperi Medet kyzy won the bronze medals in the weight category up to 76 kg.

In men's freestyle wrestling, Ernazar Akmataliev (70kg) won silver and Alibek Osmonov (65kg) won a bronze medals.
