Kyrgyz State Border Service transferred to National Security Committee of country

Bishkek, Nov. 14, 2020. /Kabar/. The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has been transferred to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the republic. The corresponding decision was signed by Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov, the press service of the Government said Saturday.

"In order to improve the system of state border protection, counter the threat of infiltration of international gangs, improve the effectiveness of the fight against the illegal import of goods and cargo, drugs and weapons into the territory of Kyrgyzstan from neighboring states, in the framework of optimizing the functions of government executive bodies, the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has been transferred to the State Committee for National Security,” the report says.

In accordance with the decision taken on the basis of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security with a location in the Bishkek city.

Director of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security will be the first deputy chairman of the SCNS.

The National Security Committee is instructed to make proposals within one month to amend the regulatory legal acts governing the activities of the SCNS Border Service.
