Kyrgyzstan’s women wrestling team arrives in Bishkek

Bishkek, Dec. 19, 2020. /Kabar/. Members of Kyrgyzstan’s national women’s wrestling team arrived on Dec. 19 in Bishkek from Serbia, where the World Wrestling Cup took place.

According to the press service of the country’s State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports, the national team was met at Manas International Airport by Deputy Director of the State Agency Kanatbek Arpachiyev, Vice-President of the Wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Baigazy Kenzhebaev, Director of the Directorate of Olympic sports Zhomart Shamkanov, parents, relatives and friends of the athletes. Hundreds of sports fans also gathered at the airport.

Note that the Women's Wrestling Individual World Cup was held on Dec. 14-16 in Belgrade (Serbia).

A total of 10 sets of medals were played In women's wrestling. Kyrgyzstan’s national team was represented by 4 athletes under the guidance of head coach Nurbek Izabekov. They won 2 gold and 1 bronze medal.

1 place - Aisuluu Tynybekova (weight category up to 62 kg).

1st place - Meerim Zhumanazarova (up to 68 kg).

3rd place - Aiperi Medet kyzy (up to 76 kg).
