Last year Uzbekistan sells over 145 kg of gold and silver

Tashkent, Feb.17, 2020. /Kabar/. In 2019, 145.1 kg of gold and silver worth over $4.9 billion were sold through the UZEX exchange trades, the press service of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) reported.

Last December, the London Bullion Market Association’s fixing price per 1 ounce (31.1 grams) of gold rose by 17%, from $1,302.2 to $1,523.

The starting price for precious metals on the exchange is determined based on the last morning fixing by London Bullion Market Association in national currency at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on the date of the exchange transaction.

The main position of Uzbek exports in 2019 remained precious metals, while gold accounted for 27.5% of total national exports.
