Despite the significant difficulties associated with the pandemic and other restrictions, last year was very successful for the economy of Kyrgyzstan, First Deputy Cabinet of Ministers of the country Arzybek Kozhoshev told today during the collegium of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He said that last year they managed to overfulfill the budget and instead of the planned consolidated budget of KGS 220 billion, they managed to collect KGS 311 billion. Kozhoshev noted that such indicators were achieved without resorting to an increase in tax collections and without burdening the people.
“Due to the successfully implemented digitalization, automation and optimization of state bodies, we managed to increase the budget. In addition, in 2021, we did not take external debt. GDP growth was more than 3%. At the same time, it is important to understand that the past year was rich in political processes and reforms in public services. But it was in 2021 that President Sadyr Zhaparov set the task for the Cabinet of Ministers to make an economic breakthrough. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of experienced and qualified personnel in the system of the economy, we managed to complete the task in the shortest possible time and, in parallel, introduce new programs and development levers. We will not stop at this and use all our potential for the development of our economy,” said the first deputy Cabinet chairman.
In addition, Kozhoshev said that benefits, pensions and salaries of civil servants were increased in 2021. Also, the established funds were allocated in full to all ministries and departments.
At the end of his speech, the first deputy chairman of the Cabinet added that in 2021 the state purchased military equipment for the defense of the country, allocated KGS 1 billion to improve the irrigation system, as well as KGS 1 billion 500 million for the purchase of seeds.
