Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2019. /Kabar/. The second consultative meeting of the leaders of Central Asian states will be held in Tashkent in the spring of 2019, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Komil Rashidov told at a briefing.
He said that the event is aimed at raising the relationship between the countries of Central Asia to a qualitatively new level.
“Before the consultative meeting of the leaders of the region’s countries, an international conference on “Interconnectedness in Central Asia: Challenges and New Opportunities” will be held. The conference will be held in Tashkent on February 19-20. Leading experts, including those from Kyrgyzstan, will take part in it,” he said.
In addition, the head of the diplomatic mission noted that in February 2019, the launch of the Silk Visa between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is expected.
“There is a firm intention of the Kyrgyz side to join the Central Asian analogue of the EU Schengen visa. We are confident that such a measure will help increase the flow of foreign tourists to our region,” he added.
Komil Rashidov stressed that an intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation in Tashkent at the level of prime ministers is also planned to be held this year.
"The parties have started the implementation of the Road Map, signed by the Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on December 18, 2018," he concluded.
