Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2022. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) met with the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi.
The leaders of the countries discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and other spheres, the Kyrgyz president’s press service reported.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed satisfaction with the personal acquaintance and congratulated Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, noting that there are no disagreements between Kyrgyzstan and Iran that impede bilateral cooperation.
He expressed readiness to continue constant political dialogue and interaction at all levels, as well as to further strengthen the Kyrgyz-Iranian cooperation.
He also attached great importance to trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, the use of transit potential.
Sadyr Zhaparov added that the Kyrgyz side welcomes Iran's accession to the SCO, which will deepen joint cooperation in various areas.
The president of Iran, in turn, stressed that Kyrgyzstan and Iran are brotherly countries with a common culture, history and values.
He noted that the two countries have good opportunities and high potential to take bilateral relations to a new level. The Iranian side will make every effort for this.
The Iranian president added that the current volume of trade is at a low level, and therefore the parties should work on its significant increase. In this context, he noted the importance of intensifying the work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission of Iran and Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of the meeting, Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi invited Sadyr Zhaparov to pay a visit to Tehran.
Sadyr Zhaparov expressed his gratitude for the invitation, and also invited Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi to visit Kyrgyzstan at a convenient time for him.
The dates of the visits will be worked out through diplomatic channels.
