Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2018. / Kabar /. The final conference “Interfaith Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan” will be held in Bishkek on Dec. 5 devoted to the issues of establishing interfaith harmony between representatives of various religious organizations in the country.
The conference is the result of a cycle of forums held from June to October 2018 in all regions of the republic.
The attention of participants will be drawn to possible obstacles and prospects for the formation of interfaith dialogue, both in each individual region of the republic and in the country as a whole. The role of religious leaders and civil society in the process of building a platform for interfaith dialogue will be highlighted.
The result of the conference will be the creation of a first independent body whose main activity will be aimed at preserving interfaith harmony. The Inter-Confessional Council of Kyrgyzstan will be formed.
This event is held within the framework of the implementation of the Kyrgyz State Policy Concept in the religious sphere for 2014-2020, in order to develop approaches to strengthen interfaith dialogue, principles of respect for various beliefs, human rights and freedoms, tolerance, prevent radicalism and extremism.
The event will be organized by the State Commission on Religious Affairs in partnership with the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) in the Kyrgyz Republic and the NGO “AVEP”.
