Bishkek, May 29, 2018. / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States and Canada Kadyr Toktogulov met on May 25 in Washington with Ambassador at Large of the US Department of State for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the conversation Toktogulov stressed that Kyrgyzstan is committed to protecting and observing human rights, including with regard to ensuring religious freedom.
From his part, Brownback noted the leading role of Kyrgyzstan in the Central Asian region in the issues of democratic development and observance of religious freedoms, expressing the hope that Kyrgyzstan will continue its progress in this direction.
The US State Department spokesman also expressed readiness to promote cooperation between the two countries in order to further improve the situation in Kyrgyzstan in the field of religious freedom.
