Lectures on extremism held in 70 educational organizations since early 2018

Bishkek, Dec. 6, 2018. /Kabar/. Since the beginning of 2018, lectures on extremism have been held in 70 educational organizations in all the regions of Kyrgyzstan, Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs Zayirbek Ergeshov told during an international forum on “Preventing Violent Extremism and the Role of Media”.

He said that in 2014, the concept of state policy in the religious sphere was adopted, in 2015, an action plan for the following year was adopted.

“Today extremism and radicalism is considered the most pressing problem. As part of the implementation of the concept of preventing radicalism and extremism, the State Commission for Religious Affairs is very actively working with all state bodies. First of all, it is the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Joint lectures help us a lot,” Ergeshov said.

He further added that in 2018 alone, from the beginning of January, lectures were organized in 70 schools, universities and other institutions in all regions of the country together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Work in this direction continues.
