Bishkek, Jan.16, 2020. /Kabar/. The level of air pollution in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek is high, specialist of the Hydrometeorology Agency under the Emergency Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic Meerim Asanbai kyzy told Kabar Agency.
According to the operational data, at 8:00 a.m. of Jan.16, 2020, the carbon monoxide concentration was 23.97 mg per m3, while the norm is 5 mg per m3.
"The concentration levels for other pollutants are normal," the specialist said.
According to the AirVisual application, currently the air in Bishkek is unhealthy for population’s sensitive groups and the pollution is 141AQI.
This level of pollution in the sensitive segments of the population can cause irritation and respiratory problems.
In November 2019, the amount of emissions in Bishkek, polluting the air, departing from stationary sources per person has made 23.2 kg.
With the onset of the cold weather, the amount of exhaust gases of cars increases, the amount of which exceeds the norm, the townspeople begin to heat houses and baths with garbage and rubber. All this leads to air pollution in the capital, an increase in the air quality index.
