Bishkek, June 15 / Kabar /. The maternal mortality rate in Kyrgyzstan is the highest among the countries of Central Asia, says in the report of the Ombudsman Institute "Observance of the reproductive rights of women".
The report said that women are poorly informed in planning of pregnancy, proper nutrition, lifestyle during pregnancy and after childbirth.
Most of the tragic cases have been registered in Osh, Jalal-Abad and Chui oblasts, compared to other oblasts.
The UNICEF office in the republic in its press release distributed in March reported that the maternal mortality rate decreased by 13% in 2016.
Reportedly, specialists conducted monitoring on effective perinatal care, resuscitation of newborns. The expert teams noted the improvement of the branch infrastructure, the availability of medicines, the practical skills of medical personnel in the provision of primary neonatal resuscitation and assistance in emergency obstetric situations.
