Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2017 / Kabar /. Liglass Trading asks to postpone the payment of $ 37 million for the construction of the Upper-Naryn cascade of HPPs due to force majeure circumstances, Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Duishenbek Zilaliyev said.
He said that, tomorrow is the last day of payment, they did not transfer the money.
"The Czech company asked to extend the term of payment, but for which period of time they did not mention." We have just received a letter, now we are considering it, as soon as we receive the opinions of the officials I will forward it to the Prime Minister. What decision the prime minister will take, I do not know," he said.
Zilaliyev said that allegedly political forces prevented them, that is, media hunt and vilification negatively affected their financial resources.
"If there are any violations of the law, then I am responsible for this," he said.
Liglass Trading won a tender for the construction of the Upper-Naryn cascade of HPP in Kyrgyzstan and another ten small hydroelectric power stations.
The agreement was signed on July 10 in Bishkek by representatives of the company and the government of Kyrgyzstan.
Under the agreement, the investor should contribute $ 37 million to start the procedure for transferring Russia’s share in the amount of 50% of the shares of Liglass Trading.
Recall, in early January 2016, Kyrgyzstan denounced the agreement with Russia on the construction of Upper-Naryn cascade of HPPs, signed in 2012.
The Russian company RusHydro, which was implementing the project, said that the company invested $ 37 million in the project and demanded to return them.
Term for the payment of $37 million under the agreement ends tomorrow, September 19.
