Bishkek, Jan.24, 2020. /Kabar/. At the IV World Nomad Games (WNG) the Kok-Boru tournament will be held according to the rules of the Federation of this sport of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Kyrgyz State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports reported on Friday.
As a result of bilateral talks, the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports and Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports have signed a memorandum of understanding on holding of the WNG.
According to the memorandum, the following Kyrgyz sports will be included in the Games’ program:
-Kok-Boru (is a Central Asian sport in which horse-mounted players attempt to place a goat or calf carcass in a goal);
-Er Enish (horseback wrestling of horsemen);
-Kyrgyz Kurosh (national belt wrestling);
-Ordo (traditional Kyrgyz game)
These games will be held in accordance with the rules of the Kyrgyz Federations of these sports.
Toguz Korgool (traditional Kyrgyz intellectual game) and Alysh (traditional Kyrgyz belt wrestling) will be held according to the approved rules of the International Federations.
Great Nomad Wrestling (freestyle united belt wrestling of the nomads) will be held according to the approved rules of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The World Nomad Games are the biggest international project held in the Kyrgyz Republic, a project initiated by the government in 2012 for the revival and preservation of the culture of nomadic civilization.
The I World Nomad Games were held from in September 2014 in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul Oblast, Kyrgyzstan.
The II World Nomad Games took place in September 2016 in the same oblast.
Issyk-Kul Oblast of Kyrgyzstan hosted the III Games in 2018.
The IV World Nomad games will take place in Turkey this year.
