Bishkek, Mar. 19, 2019. /Kabar/. A delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania headed by Vice-Minister Darius Skusevičius visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan.
The guests were interested in the investment climate of Kyrgyzstan. Skusevičius noted that today the trade turnover between the countries is about 92 million euros. “Kyrgyzstan imports vehicles, electronics, equipment and food products from Lithuania. Our republic exports copper and silver,” he said. However, according to the Vice-Minister, there is room for progress. With the intensification of business cooperation, it will possible to increase the volume of trade.
“We know that Kyrgyzstan has the potential to export its products under the GSP+ program; and we are ready to assist in the development of standards and regulation of documents. The Lithuanian business community has gained experience in exporting to the EU countries, and we will be happy to assist in the promotion of goods and services from Kyrgyzstan to Europe. We could also establish business contacts in the field of IT-technologies, financial services and bio-organics,” Skusevičius said.
In turn, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Rima Apasova informed the guests about the activities of the Center for Business Education at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the site of which it would be possible to organize export trainings in the framework of GSP+.
“At the moment, educational services of the Center of are very popular among businessmen, training is conducted in the most popular areas. And there is no doubt that GSP+ trainings will also find their audience,” Apasova concluded.
