Local residents impeded work of commission, which arrived to study Shambesai gold field in south Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 24, 2018. / Kabar /. Representatives of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Study of the Shambesai deposit arrived on the territory of the village of Maidan on October 23.

The press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of Batken oblast told Kabar News Agency that members of the commission came to the deposit to collect water and soil samples.

But the locals hindered the work of the commission saying that the commission members repeatedly collected samples for study. The situation was controlled by officers of the Uch-Korgon police station, who helped the delegation to leave the place. No one was hurt, the press service said.
