Longest 130 m shyrdak made in Naryn may enter Guinness Book

Bishkek, July 25, 2022. /Kabar/. A Kyrgyz shyrdak (felt carpet), more than 130 meters long, was presented in Son-Kol pasture of Naryn Oblast of Kyrgyzstan.

According to local TV channel, the shyrdak was created by 70 artisans from the Altyn Kol-Naryn Handmade Women's Society.

The longest shyrdak – in Naryn festival was organized to celebrate the presentation of the longest shyrdak. The purpose of the event is to enter the Guinness Book of Records.

Shyrdak is a felt carpet, one of the most complex in its technique of making felt products among Kyrgyz.
