Bishkek, Nov.19, 2024. /Kabar/. Los Angeles (USA) will host today, Nov. 19 the day of Kyrgyz Cinema, organized with the support of the Kyrgyz Film National Film Studio named after Tolomush Okeyev.
The event to be held within the framework of the 10th Asian World Film Festival will present two outstanding Kyrgyz films to the audience: Kachkyn (Deal at the Border) by Dastan Zhapar Ryskeldy, and Paradise at Mother's Feet by Ruslan Akun, nominated by Kyrgyzstan for an Oscar.
“The Day of Kyrgyz Cinema will be an important event to showcase the tourism potential and cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan. In addition, it is a unique opportunity to discuss the development of the national film industry, its achievements and prospects on the world stage. Holding the event emphasizes the growing interest of the international community in Kyrgyz cinema,” the report says.
The Kachkyn film was included in the main program of the festival Asian Vision and is a candidate for the award in the category “Best Film”. The film was selected among the 8 best films of the Asian region.
The AWFF Asian World Film Festival is held annually in Los Angeles and brings together representatives of the film industry from more than 50 countries. AWFF showcases the best films from the Asian region, making it a key platform for promoting national cinema on the international stage.
