M. Abulgaziev: Kyrgyzstan and Germany are interested in development of cooperation, especially in energy and agriculture

Bishkek, March 15 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan and Germany are interested in developing cooperation, especially in such areas as energy and agriculture, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammetkaly Abulgaziev said today, March 15, at the Kyrgyz-German forum "Agriculture, Energy and Innovation” in Bishkek.

The Kyrgyz Government’s press service reports that in his speech Abulgaziev said that this forum is being held for the second time and is of great importance for the development of bilateral Kyrgyz-German relations.

"This year we mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Germany. During this time we managed to do a lot. German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in July 2016 and Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev’s visit to Germany and participation in the security conference in Munich in February 2017 is of great importance for the development of bilateral relations,” he said.

The First Vice Prime Minister said that over the years of cooperation between the two countries a number of projects were implemented.

"We highly appreciate the humanitarian assistance from Germany in the fields of education, medicine, agriculture and energy. In addition, the German side is rendering great assistance in the form of technical and grant assistance. After the accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Eurasian Economic Union, our country gained access to the common market of the EEU, where about 180 million people live. With this in mind, we are ready to offer the German side a number of projects that we can implement jointly with representatives of business circles in Germany," Abulgaziev said.

At the forum, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and other state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the field of energy, innovation, agriculture with the members of the German delegation headed by the state secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economy, Cooperation and Development Hans-Joachim Fuchtel.
