Bishkek, Jan.8, 2020./Kabar/. Today, Jan.8 Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has signed a Decree on Declaring 2020 the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children, his press service said.
In 2018, the development of the regions was identified as a key priority of the country's public policy.
In 2019, the chosen course of regional development was continued.
Given that digital technologies are an important factor in improving the quality of life, 2019 was declared the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of the Country.
In the long term, Kyrgyzstan must become a country with a developed information society based on innovation and knowledge, and the state must create favourable conditions for the development of human capital.
In the previous two years the foundations have been laid, which have formed the prerequisites for further regional development.
As part of the country's digitalization, a large-scale effort has been made to improve access to quality public and municipal services.
These directions remain priorities of the state policy in the current year as well.
Along with them, the Decree identifies important direction of state policy-support for children, especially orphans, children in difficult life situations and disabled children.
The state policy on the development of the regions of the country covers a set of measures aimed at developing the national economy.
Among other things, it aims to reduce internal migration, which has an impact on the family institution and the level of social protection of children.
Taking into account this trend, this year the state will pay special attention to strengthening family traditions in bringing up the younger generation.
According to the Decree, the most important task of the country's state and local self-government bodies is to implement measures for the development of regions, digitalization of the country and comprehensive support for children.
The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is encouraged to implement a number of specifically identified tasks and areas reflected in the Decree.
