Almaty, Jan.31, 2020. /Kabar/. The main task to complete the formation of the unified market of the Eurasian Economic Union is the need to remove internal barriers to the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgasiev said during the regular extended format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council (EIGC) in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
At the beginning of his speech, the prime minister congratulated Mikhail Mishustin on his appointment as Russia’s Prime Minister, and wished him success in his work.
He also wished fruitful work to his Belarusian counterparts in connection with the assumption of the EAEU chairmanship in 2020.
"Over the 5 years of cooperation, one of the most important achievements has been the creation of a solid legal and contractual framework, which is the basis for the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor. Our association was created to increase the competitiveness of national economies and create conditions for stable development and improvement of living standards of citizens of our countries. At the same time, it is regrettable to note that recently we are faced with increasing barriers to trade promotion within the EAEU," Abylgaziev said.
The prime minister said the Kyrgyz side attaches importance to cooperation within the framework of the Union based on the principles of equality, trust and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Abylgaziev added the today's narrow format meeting had a constructive conversation and discussed a string of important issues, related to the elaboration of a document that defines the strategic directions of the Eurasian economic integration until 2025.
The prime minister of Kyrgyzstan stressed that, given the current situation, the Kyrgyz side believes that a string of measures should be taken to create an efficient system to remove the barriers.
In particular, to provide the Eurasian Economic Commission with additional powers to make decisions on cancellation of national acts of the member states that violate the right of the EAEU; to establish the procedure and determine the terms of consideration of appeals on violation of the Union's right; to authorize the Eurasian Economic Commission to file claims to the EAEU Court in case of non-fulfillment by member states of the decisions of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

14 issues are expected to be discussed at the EIGC meeting, including those related to the elimination of barriers in the framework of the functioning of the domestic market of the EAEU, the execution of previously given orders, the formation of an ecosystem of digital transport corridors, work on the draft Agreement on the regulation of the alcohol market in the framework of integration association, improvement of mechanisms for the use of special protective, anti-dumping and compensation measures taking into account international rules and regulations.
