Bishkek, May 16, 2022 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan’s Osh city will host major international tourism events in the coming years "Silk Road FEST", "Silk Road EXPO", "Silk Road GAMES". This became known during the tourist business forum "Development of the tourism sector of the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic", which was held in the city of Cholpon-Ata.
Maksatbek Orozaliev, Head of the Department of External Relations and Analytics of the Osh Mayor’s Office, made a presentation at the forum "Osh - the Tourist Provider of the Great Silk Road"..
"The Osh Mayor’s Office in the coming years has set the task of holding international tourism events within the framework of the Great Silk Road - "Silk Road FEST", "Silk Road EXPO", "Silk Road GAMES". These events are aimed at strengthening the position of the city of Osh in the global tourism market and attracting foreign tourist flow to the city up to 100,000 people.
Thanks to all the efforts, the city administration plans to increase tourism revenue to KGS 800 million per year and turn Osh into one of the main tourist vectors on the Great Silk Road," Orozaliev emphasized.
The goals of the Forum are to unite efforts to develop tourism, establish contacts and develop ties between travel companies, promote tourism potential, and attract investment.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov, Director of the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Samat Shatmanov, representatives of state bodies and diplomatic corps, heads of tourism associations, regional destinations and communities, organizations engaged in labor activities in the field of tourism.
