Bishkek, May 22, 2018 / Kabar /. Representatives of tourism companies of Malaysia arrived in Bishkek to get acquainted with the tourist potential of Kyrgyzstan. The study tour was worked out by the efforts of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Malaysia and Air Astana.
These measures were undertaken to familiarize the audience of Malaysia with the tourist potential of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to increase the tourist flow from Malaysia.
Also, a meeting was organized in Bishkek between the Department of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic and a foreign delegation consisting of nine leading companies: Apple Vacations & Conventions, Bestour & Travel, Z.G. Nan Fang Holidays, Amar Travels & Tours, Poto Travel & Tours, Fulham Tours, Tabung Haji Travel & Services, Ice Holidays.
These companies are reportedly focused on the tourist market of Central Asian countries.
In addition, the Kyrgyz side demonstrated presentation materials about the tourism opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as an informal platform for establishing personal contacts between representatives of Kyrgyz and Malaysian travel companies.
According to data of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, about 180 tourists from Malaysia visited annually Kyrgyzstan in 2012-2013 and in 2016 this figure increased to 750 people, in 2017 - to 900 people.
