Bishkek, March 14 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov met with President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain during his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan today, March 14, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.
The sides exchanged views on the current state of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties. Also they discussed the issues of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations and stressed the need to intensify the trade and economic partnership of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan.
Speaker Tursunbekov said that besides the expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries, it is necessary to expand cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and extremism. "Kyrgyzstan is interested in the soonest implementation of the project on the export of electricity from Central Asia to South Asia CASA-1000, as well as in the transport project "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)," he said.
Tursunbekov also spoke about the reforms in Kyrgyzstan. "For Kyrgyzstan, which has chosen the path of development of parliamentary democracy, it is extremely important to study the experience of Pakistan in this area. In this regard, it is necessary to implement joint projects and carry out a number of activities," the Kyrgyz Speaker said.
In his turn, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain said that the official visit of the delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh to Pakistan opens a new page in the cooperation of the two states. "Pakistan is interested in deepening partnership with Kyrgyzstan. Moreover, the Pakistani side is ready to support Kyrgyzstan in the development of parliamentary democracy," he said.
The Kyrgyz Parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Chynybai Tursunbekov is visiting Pakistan for official visit.
