Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2020 / Kabar /. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov, as part of his working trip to Jalal-Abad Oblast examined the new building of the Jalal-Abad Children's Psychoneurological Social Hospital, the press service of the president said.
Director of the institution, Damira Alimzhanova, said that it was opened back in 1936 as a nursing home. In 1970 it was transformed into a children's psychoneurological boarding school. Children with disabilities from 4 to 18 years old from all over Kyrgyzstan find shelter here. The institution is designed for 110 places, currently there are 87 children.
Due to the fact that the main buildings of the institution were built more than 80 years ago, almost all buildings were in disrepair. In recent years, efforts have been made to renovate the building and strengthen the logistics base.
In November 2019, on the basis of an agreement between the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Union, a new modern building with all conditions was built, halls were equipped, furniture and equipment were updated.
Mamytov examined the building of a social institution, asked the health of the pupils, who demonstrated their creative talents, and also presented him with their drawings.
In addition, acting head of state talked with the hospital staff.
“Caring for children with disabilities is the responsibility of the state and these obligations are fulfilled through you - the work collective. We appreciate your work,” he said.
Mamytov stressed the importance of opening such establishments in each region and noted that the state would continue to provide all-round assistance to children with disabilities.
At the same time, the acting president got acquainted with the state of the traumatology department of the Jalal-Abad regional clinical hospital, visited the patients and wished them a speedy recovery.
