Bishkek, Apr. 7, 2020 / Kabar /. A resident of Osh oblast of Kyrgyzstan, who was infected with a coronavirus, but hid the disease from others, was detained, commandant of Osh Oblast, chief of the Osh Oblast Department of Internal Affairs Malik Nurdinov told reporters.
“During the examination, it was found that he was infected with a coronavirus. Unfortunately, the detainee hid his illness from his relatives, peers, colleagues and spread the virus. Now he is being held at the observatory. After recovery, he will be imprisoned for up to 5 years,” Nurdinov said.
Recently, President Soorinbay Jeenbekov signed the Law on introducing amendments into the acts of the Kyrgyz Republic (Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on misconduct, Code of the Kyrgyz Republic on violations).
The purpose of the Law was to bring certain codes of the Kyrgyz Republic in accordance with the constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the state of emergency” in terms of determining liability for violations of the emergency regime, state of emergency and martial law.
Under the new law, new types of liability are introduced, including punishment for violation of sanitary-epidemiological rules during the period of emergency, state of emergency and martial law.
A state of emergency was introduced in Kyrgyzstan’s some cities and regions from April 25 till April 15.
